LOS ANGELES TRADE-TECHNICAL COLLEGE FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS GIVES $50,000 TO HELP STUDENTS AMID COVID-19 PANDEMIC
LOS ANGELES – (April 14, 2020) – In rapid response to students’ immediate needs amid COVID-19, the Board of Directors of Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC) Foundation is providing $50,000 to assist LATTC leadership in providing students with Chromebook computers and $50 grocery cards.
In an unprecedented effort to comply with state and local guidelines regarding the pandemic, LATTC temporarily halted all in-classroom instruction mid-March due to the health emergency. The College quickly pivoted to online classes beginning on March 30, 2020.
Much of the LATTC student body is low income, food and housing insecure, and a significant percentage lack technical resources needed for online learning.
LATTC leadership expressed gratitude for the swift actions of the LATTC Foundation Board of Directors and the generosity of their supporters, acknowledging this financial assistance as significant in expanding the capacity of the College to provide enhanced support and resources through this extraordinary time.
