Casino night for culinary scholarships! Join us Saturday, May 14 to honor Rykoff

Legendary restaurant supplier S.E. Rykoff & Company will be honored at a special Casino Night fundraiser on Saturday, May 14, 2016, sponsored by LATTC's Culinary Program Steering Committee. The evening will feature great food prepared by Trade Tech students, under the direction of Steve Kasmar, chair of the Culinary Department.
Rykoff, now US Foodservice, began as a small family grocery in downtown Los Angeles more than a century ago. One of the founder's nine children began to market wholesale food products with the slogan "Home of the Gallon Goods." The company helped the restaurant industry grow into the major force in the economy that it is today.
Funds raised will support scholarships for Trade Tech's culinary students, who are learning the skills needed for successful careers in the food industry. Each year, Trade Tech enrolls 1,000 students in the culinary program. Started 90 years ago, the program is the oldest of its kind in the country.
Kasmar promises an exciting menu of signature Los Angeles food, including duck confit tacos, lamb shank ravioli, and vegan chili, prepared and served by LATTC's aspiring chefs.
