The LATTC campus was the site of the LATTC Foundation’s annual Dream Makers Student Benefit Dinner on Thursday, October 22, 2015. With a creative and delicious meal prepared and served by LATTC Culinary Department students, 400 supporters enjoyed an evening on campus that netted $275,000, which will be used to award scholarships to hundreds of LATTC students.

Honorees included Ron Miller, executive secretary, Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council; Gary Toebben, president and CEO, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce; Darlene Kuba, former co-chair of the Foundation; Valerie Lynne Shaw, member, California Community College Board of Governors, and Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis.

Chem-tech, nursing, child development and veteran students are among those who will benefit from the funds raised.

David L. Crippens, L.A. Trade Tech College Foundation chairperson, said, “Our Dream Makers Student Benefit Dinner enables our foundation to raise scholarships funds for hundreds of Trade Tech College students each year. The benefit of these scholarships can be felt throughout our community as thousands of L.A. Trade Tech College students acquire the education and skills they need to earn good paying jobs in construction trades and transportation, culinary arts, fashion design, cosmetology, computer information system and, graphic arts. Our efforts, strengthened by the generous private sector support we receive, help Trade Tech College students achieve their academic goals and realize their career aspirations.”
